Offered from 2004 to 2009, Mercury’s Mariner was a compact crossover SUV and the sibling of the Mazda Tribute and Ford Escape. This upscale SUV was available as a hybrid (yielding a surprising 34 mpg highway) and was named Consumer Digest’s Best Buy for three consecutive years. Like its stablemates, the Mariner also offered 4-cyl or V6 power. The Mariner was available in Base, Convenience and Premier trim levels prior to its discontinuation.
Being a car-based crossover SUV, the Mariner should do fine with premium all-season passenger tires. Note that the Mariner left the factory with either 225/65R17 100T or 235/70R16 104T tires, so be sure of the correct size when you order. When it’s time to shop 2011 Mercury Mariner tires, some of our recommendations would include the Yokohama Geolandar G93B, Bridgestone DriveGuard Plus (65k mile treadwear warranty), Michelin Defender LTX M/S (70k mile warranty), and Dunlop Grandtrek ST30. These are all tires that’ll deliver the long wear, great road manners, quiet, comfortable ride and year-round traction you want!
