BMW’s 5-series sedans were available with a hybrid drivetrain from ‘11 through ‘15; the ActiveHybrid5 featured a synchronous electric motor along with the turbo inline-6 from the 535i. The ActiveHybrid5 was rated at 23 mpg city/30 mpg highway, a significant jump over the conventional 5 series. Your BMW ActiveHybrid5 would have left the factory with Continental ProContact SSR tires as OEM.
When you shop 2013 BMW ActiveHybrid 5 tires, be mindful that this model uses an offset fitment with different-size tires front and rear. Some of our recommendations would include premium all-season tires like the Goodyear Eagle LS-2 ROF, Continental ContiProContact SSR (with 40k mile warranty) and Pirelli Cinturato P7. For more spirited driving, check out summer and ultra-high-performance tires like the Yokohama Advan Apex V601 and Kumho Ecsta PS31. Just be mindful that the softer, stickier tread formulation of summer and UHP tires will stiffen and lose traction on colder days; summer and UHP tires shouldn’t be used when temperatures are below 40-45 degrees F.
