The 740i was an entry in BMW’s 7-series of full-size sedans. Powered by a 322 hp twin-turbo inline 6, the 740i was available from 2008 on, and is also available in a long-wheelbase model. Your 740i xDrive would have left the factory with Bridgestone Potenza S001, Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season or Bridgestone Turanza EL450 RFT tires as OEM; please remember that the 740i uses a staggered fitment with different size tires in front and rear, so be sure of the correct size you need when you shop 2018 BMW 740i tires.
Tire sizes for a 740i xDrive could be 245/40R20 245/45R19 (front), 275/35R20, 275/40R19 (rear), 245/45R19 or 245/40R18. We’d suggest premium all-season tires like the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season, Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 (with 50k mile warranty) and Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4. For more spirited driving, there are summer and ultra-high-performance tires like the Bridgestone Potenza Sport and Michelin Pilot Sport 4. Just be aware that the softer, sticky, pliable tread compound of summer/UHP tires will stiffen and lose traction in colder weather. Summer/UHP tires shouldn’t be used if temperatures are below 40-45 degrees F.
