The perfect tire for heavy duty 4X4 trucks.
A few months ago I had Radial Tire of Silver Spring, MD expertly mount and balance my 265/75R16 Toyo M55 tires on the factory 16x7 Alcoa wheels on my 1995 F350 4x4 Single Rear Wheel Crew Cab 5.8L truck.
We filled the tires to 55 psi on a hot day, which should be about 50 psi at 50 degrees F. Based on the load inflation tables, this will support my 8,000 pound vehicle with a generous safety margin. When heavily loaded, the rear tires can be safely inflated to 80 psi if needed.
Expecting an uncomfortable ride and annoying noise from these heavy duty commercial tires, after driving 1000 miles of mixed roads including highway, asphalt, dirt, gravel, and open fields, I'm pleasantly surprised at just how comfortable the ride is, and how quiet and tolerable the tire noise is. Between the wind noise, exhaust noise, engine noise, etc., the tire noise is much less and disappears into the mix. With the windows closed and the A/C on I can hardly hear them. They are quieter than my old Open Country MT's. I also love the way that the Toyo M55's look on my truck. They have an all business and ready to work look. I like that.
I'm glad that I disregarded the reviews from people who were unhappy with the M55's on their luxury SUV's and other lightweight trucks. They may have prioritized comfort over the extreme durability of the M55's. Toyo has many other tires perfect for their needs. As for me and my heavy duty one ton 4X4 truck, I couldn't be more pleased with the performance of the Toyo M55's.
During my decision process I spoke with the Toyo U.S.A Tire Corporation Tech Support and Consumer Relations Departments. They were very friendly and knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions.
I look forward to many trouble free miles over poorly maintained highways, through deep potholes, mud, gravel, ice and snow, and the worst conditions on and off road. I will be confident that my tires will get me through safely.

These have been on an F150 for 3500 miles and have been great. 285 / 70 / 17. I did a lot of research before buying these and while they ended up being $200 more than the BFG AT's after installation and taxes I have found nothing so far that has made me regret spending the extra money. I live in northern Vermont and drive on everything from old class 4 roads, in quarries, etc. to interstate and none of the few complaints that I have read about this tire have been true for me. No winter experience yet but I would not have purchased these if I had any thought that they wouldn't deal with months of 0 degree weather and feet of snow. Not many people in my area know about the M55's and kept trying to put me in some BFG's (of which I have had 2 sets).

Aggressive commercial A/T tire. We put these tires on a truck that often uses dirt roads and its a great fit for the purpose. Loud on the highway, but we didn't by tires for a quite ride. Great traction on snow and ice.
