The Nitto NT05 tires receive overwhelmingly positive feedback for their performance, especially in dry conditions and for high-performance vehicles.
The Nitto NT05 tires are highly regarded for their excellent dry traction and performance capabilities. They are particularly well-suited for high-performance vehicles, street use, and occasional track days. While they excel in dry conditions, their performance in wet weather is limited, and they have a shorter tread life due to their soft compound. Overall, they offer good value for those seeking a high-performance summer tire.
Positive highlights
Excellent dry traction and grip, particularly for high-horsepower vehicles. Great for street use, drag racing, and track days. Improved launch and cornering performance. Attractive appearance with a sporty look. Good value for the price compared to more expensive performance tires. Relatively quiet for a high-performance tire. Decent wet weather performance for a summer tire.
Negative highlights
Short tread life due to soft compound. Poor performance in wet conditions, especially at high speeds. Not suitable for winter or snowy conditions.

great looking tires
So far I have only used the tires on a 1000 mile road trip, but i haven't got to use them on the track yet. These tires ride nicely and have minimal road noise.

These are a really good alternative to R888R, Much less noise and a whole lot safer in the rain. Pretty much the same amount of grip as R888R without the sacrifice of rain driving. 10/10 would recommend

So far my NT05s have treated me really well. Between highway rips, some track usage, sketchy rain, a 1500 mile trip, and everything in between they're a perfectly versatile tire for both daily driving and having some fun on the side. They aren't loud and are pretty nice for highway driving. My commute is only about 20 miles one way and mostly highway, and going almost or above 80mph most of the way they never give me any trouble. They're perfect for that budget ripper that you like to street cruise as well.
The Nitto NT05 is an ultra-high-performance summer tire for sports cars and sedans that offers drivers racetrack-inspired handling, outstanding wet or dry traction, quick steering response, and is protected by Nitto's limited manufacturer warranty for first 25% of tread depth.
Features & Benefits
Ultra-high-performance tire
Black sidewall
Reinforced tread blocks and large continuous center rib provide exceptional rigidity and stability, enhancing handling stability
Specifically formulated tread compound and reinforced internal construction improve dry road response, traction, handling, and high-speed capabilities
Continuous center rib combined with large outer shoulder tread blocks offer consistent contact with the road for high-level dry performance
For the NT05, Nitto leveraged their experience in the motorsports world for a tire that's equally capable on the street or the track. The NT05 features a wide, continuous center rib and large, reinforced shoulder blocks for decisive traction on dry pavement. The specially formulated tread compound and reinforced internal construction of the NT05 emphasize high-speed stability and cornering, keeping the tire planted on the road during hard, high-speed maneuvers. The softer, stickier tread formulation of the NT05 will stiffen and lose traction on colder days; Nitto advises against using this tire if temperatures are below 40-45 degrees F.
Yes, the Nitto NT05 tires are a good choice for drivers of performance-oriented cars that want excellent traction and handling performance on paved roads.
Yes, Nitto NT05 tires are street legal thanks to their D.O.T. certification
No, the Nitto NT05 is probably not a good commuter tire as the NT05 is an ultra-hig- performance tire that's better suited for sports and competition vehicles.
No, the Nitto NT05 is not a good winter tire. Ultra-high-performance tires like the NT05 uses a softer tread formulation that hardens in colder weather; they should not be used when temperatures are below 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Yes, the Nitto NT05 is available in larger sizes such as 20". The NT05 is also available in 15", 17", 18", and 19" sizes.
Yes, Nitto NT05 tires can be paired with other tires. Nitto suggests that the NT05 can be used on front wheels of RWD performance cars, with drag radials on the rear axle.
Yes, the Nitto NT05 does corner well. The continuous center rib, large tread blocks and rigid construction of the NT05 are engineered for cornering and steering response.
